Ange Postecoglou has emerged as a surprise contender for the managerial post at Al-Ahli, with reports linking the former Tottenham Hotspur boss to the Saudi club.
The club is believed to be exploring high-profile options to bolster their coaching ranks, and Postecoglou’s name has surfaced amid speculation over his future in European soccer.
While no formal approach has been confirmed, the links have sparked intrigue given Postecoglou’s successful track record with club and country.
Al-Ahli’s Managerial Search
Al-Ahli is exploring potential managerial candidates following speculation that current manager Matthias Jaissle may depart for European opportunities, including a possible move to RB Leipzig.
Jaissle is under contract until 2026 with a significant salary.
Ange Postecoglou Linked To Al-Ahli Managerial Role
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is reportedly under consideration for the managerial position at the Saudi Arabian club.
This development comes shortly after his dismissal from Spurs, despite leading the club to a Europa League victory and ending a 17-year trophy drought.
Postecoglou’s Coaching Experience
Postecoglou has a diverse coaching background, having managed clubs in Japan, Australia, and Scotland before his tenure at Tottenham.
His experience includes winning the J1 League with Yokohama F. Marinos and multiple trophies with Celtic.
Potential Move To Al-Ahli
Should Postecoglou accept the role, he would join a club featuring high-profile players such as Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez. Al-Ahli is reportedly preparing a lucrative offer for the Australian manager.
Postecoglou’s Recent Departure From Tottenham
Despite his success at Tottenham, Postecoglou was sacked following a disappointing Premier League season. He received a £5 million severance package and a £2 million bonus for securing Champions League qualification.
Postecoglou’s potential move to Al-Ahli highlights the club’s ambition to strengthen its managerial leadership. His extensive coaching experience positions him as a strong candidate to lead the team in future competitions.
